MiCA 2026: architecture and operating-model implications.

September 2026 MiCA-oriented intelligence for digital-asset architecture and operating-model decisions, grounded in official ESMA application and transitional information.

Updated September 2026

MiCA is in application; transition questions are now operational.

ESMA’s single rulebook states that MiCA applies from 30 December 2024, with Titles III and IV applying from 30 June 2024. ESMA also described transitional measures for qualifying pre-existing providers that could run until 1 July 2026. That date has now passed, so organisations should verify their current authorisation status and the position applicable in the relevant Member State.
